Rotary Suction Feeder
Veterans
of the print finishing and direct mail industries will certainly recognize
this style of feeder. Product is loaded from the top and a set of suction cups
rise to pull down the leading edge of the bottom piece. A cam with clamps advances,
the clamps close on the leading edge and the rotation of the cam pulls the
piece out form the bottom of the pile.
The RSA feeder is used infrequently but is especially effective when working with stock that is is very limp. A common application is feeding newspaper inserts.
Another application for the feeder is its ability to handle a variety of different thicknesses of product without adjustment or changeover between them.
