Pfankuch Friction Feeders
Friction Deliveries :: Neckhanger Applicator Feeder
The
BNA (Bottleneck Hanger Applicator) feeder is typical of the creative Pfankuch
engineering response to a troublesome production situation.
Company veteran Bernd Leimer conceived a system using a standard friction feeder with minor modifications to solve the costly problem of applying high volumes of neckhangers to bottles.
The feeder is installed straddling a bottle conveyor line, with space between the bottles passing underneath. Using an encoder to match the speed of the bottle, the hanger, which has been pre-fed so that the oval die-cut is positioned over the neck of the bottle, is fed at the same speed as the bottle and driven down on top for secure placement.
Unlike the other solutions in the market, the Pfankuch BNA feeder is designed to work with hangers printed by any printer (certain restrictions on design, stock and consistency must be observed) rather than to consume expensive proprietary hangers.
The feeder easily drops into existing lines and is priced economically enough for use with occasional promotions in addition to routine neckhanger applications.
Surveys indicate labeling is critical to customers. Neckhangers can offer additional label space to highlight and clarify details that will influence the customers’ informed decision. Read more...
